Peterson Room alternatives

Hi everyone,

The Peterson Room is unavailable for weekend reservations, so I'm trying to come up with alternatives.

1) The South Campus Center - http://depts.washington.edu/sauf/scc/sccres/354.php

They have an area called the Crow's Nest, which over looks Portage Bay -- it's very nice and I've had receptions there. The capacity, however, is a max of 45, maybe 50. The SCCC also has larger meeting areas, which aren't as aesthetically attractive, but they all over look Portage Bay, which has a great view. There are also smaller classrooms which could serve as break out areas.

2) A hotel with conference space would get the job done, but it's not on campus, and I've never dealt with hotels in this capacity before. I get the feeling the prices would be pretty reasonable, however.

3) The HUB Ballroom and meeting rooms.

Let me know what you all think.

Liz

  1. We should also check out Gerberding 142. I did not show this to Nick or the other committee members. It's a work room where the Board of Regents usually meets. It's big enough for SAGE and has flexible seating.

  2. Rene suggested that we make sure to look for central locations for this year's Summit meeting. She mentioned that she had heard from several faculty and staff members that they did not attend the Summit last year because of its location in the stadium. Just wanted to make sure that that was out there...
